Labelling

Manufacturers and importers that supply products to the internal market of Lithuania in packaging covered by the deposit system shall be obliged to label the packaging with barcodes that identify the packaging manufacturer or importer, and with the respective deposit-system mark.

The procedure for labelling using this mark shall be established by the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania.

Užstato Sistemos Asministratorius establishes the dimensions and colour, and other requirements pertaining to the barcode in its Instruction Manual (Part 6). These requirements shall be complied with to ensure that the reverse vending machines used for the return of packaging can identify the packaging returned by consumers.
